"Ride Your Bicycle Safely"
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 13th that it will provide bicycle insurance services to all residents. This project was promoted to alleviate the economic burden on residents caused by unexpected accidents involving bicycles.
This project, the first of its kind in Sancheong-gun, has been providing services under an insurance contract signed for one year from the 1st of last month to January 31 of next year. In particular, all residents registered in Sancheong-gun are automatically enrolled in the insurance without any separate procedures.
The coverage includes accidents that occur while directly operating (riding) a bicycle and cases where a pedestrian suffers sudden and accidental injury caused by a bicycle while walking on the road.
The coverage includes ▲death ▲permanent disability ▲diagnosis consolation money ▲hospitalization consolation money ▲bicycle accident fines ▲attorney fees ▲traffic accident handling support funds, among others.
Previously, Sancheong-gun enacted an ordinance on the promotion of bicycle use last year to ensure the safety and management of bicycle users.
