A delegation led by Park Myong-ho, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of North Korea, currently on an official visit to Mongolia, met with the Mongolian President and the Minister and Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs to discuss cooperation between the two countries in areas such as agriculture, health, and humanitarian aid.
On the 11th, Vice Minister Park paid a courtesy call on Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and conveyed warm greetings from Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission, according to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on the 12th. The two leaders confirmed their commitment to developing bilateral relations and strengthening exchanges and cooperation, the agency explained.
Also present at the meeting were Batmunkh Battsengel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, the North Korean ambassador to Mongolia, and the Mongolian ambassador to North Korea.
Earlier, on the 10th, Vice Minister Park visited Minister Battsengel, and the following day held talks with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Gombosuren Amartuvshin. The Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a press release, "Vice Minister Park is on an official visit to Mongolia from the 10th to the 13th. Deputy Minister Amartuvshin held talks with Vice Minister Park on the 11th, focusing on the traditionally friendly relations and stable development of cooperation between the two countries."
It added, "Both sides evaluated the successful events commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and the 35th anniversary of North Korean President Kim Il Sung's visit to Mongolia last year. They discussed plans to resume and strengthen cooperation in education, culture, sports, agriculture, health, and humanitarian fields. The talks were conducted in a friendly and constructive manner."

This is the first visit by a North Korean Foreign Ministry delegation to Mongolia since the COVID-19 pandemic. Regarding this, the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "At the beginning of the talks, Deputy Minister Amartuvshin expressed confidence that this visit would significantly contribute to the resumption and strengthening of historically and traditionally friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries after the pandemic."
It also added, "Vice Minister Park expressed gratitude for Mongolia's warm hospitality and emphasized North Korea's importance placed on expanding and developing relations with Mongolia, its neighbor in the Northeast Asian region." The Korean Central News Agency also reported that both sides discussed ways to strengthen and develop friendly cooperative relations in line with the demands of the new era and to mutually support and cooperate on the international stage.

Mongolia and North Korea have maintained friendly relations since establishing diplomatic ties in October 1948, and in January of this year, Luvsantseren Erdenedavaa was newly appointed as the Mongolian ambassador to North Korea.
