SK Signet Strengthens Cybersecurity for Electric Vehicle Chargers... Establishes Integrated System
Collaboration with Automotive Software Specialist Company 'Pescaro'
Electric vehicle fast charger manufacturer SK Signet has partnered with automotive software specialist FESCARO to establish a cybersecurity enhancement system for electric vehicle chargers.
SK Signet stated on the 12th, "We conducted Threat Analysis and Risk Assessment (TARA) on electric vehicle chargers and established security measures based on the priority of cybersecurity threats. Through approximately 140 test cases, we performed security testing and mitigated threat factors to further enhance safety." They also prepared an overall cybersecurity roadmap to flexibly respond to cyber threat situations in the mid to long term.
Electric vehicle chargers are equipped with software such as payment systems and membership services, which communicate with electric vehicles to exchange various information. Since many components of electric vehicles operate based on electricity and the vehicle itself is controlled by software, the need for cybersecurity to counter malicious software attacks like ransomware is increasing.
SK Signet is also building the 'Charger Integrated Support System (CISS)' to improve customer convenience and strengthen security. Through the Charger Integrated Support System, real-time monitoring and control of chargers, as well as remote execution of wireless software updates (Over-the-air, OTA), can be performed.
