Yoo Cheol-hwan, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, Elected as Director of the International Ombudsman Institute
The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission announced on the 12th that Chairman Yu Cheol-hwan has been elected as the Asia Regional Director of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI).

The IOI is an international organization established in 1978 to develop the ombudsman system and promote exchange and cooperation among ombudsman institutions worldwide. Approximately 234 institutions from about 120 countries are members, with a board meeting held annually and a general assembly every four years.
The IOI board consists of 24 members, with directors elected from six continents. In Asia, a total of four directors, including Chairman Yu, are active.
As a director, Chairman Yu participates in major agenda discussions such as revising IOI regulations, reviewing new membership qualifications, and approving financial matters including subsidies. His term is four years, from May this year until May 2028.
