According to industry sources on the 12th, LG Electronics secured the top four positions in the first evaluation results of this year’s 'Best Drum Washer' recently announced by Consumer Reports.
The LG Electronics drum washer (model WM3900HWA), which took first place, received the highest rating of 'Excellent' in washing performance, water and energy efficiency, and customer satisfaction categories. All LG Electronics drum washers ranked from first to fourth are 'Green Choice' products selected by Consumer Reports. Consumer Reports assigns this designation to top-tier products after directly testing water and energy efficiency, brand reliability, softness of laundry after washing, product weight and volume, among other factors.
The U.S. washing machine market is divided into premium drum washers, top-loading agitator washers, and entry-level agitator washers.
According to Consumer Reports’ evaluation, drum washers demonstrated superior cleaning power and used less water compared to high-efficiency top-loading and agitator washers. The average water usage of drum washers was 38 liters, which is less than that of top-loading washers (50 liters) and agitator washers (76 liters).
Jim Nani, Deputy Director of Product Testing at Consumer Reports, stated, "Drum washers accounted for about 29% of the U.S. washing machine market last year as a premium product segment."
LG Electronics’ washers are popular due to core component technologies such as the inverter DD motor, which directly connects the washing tub and motor to precisely control rotation speed.
