Baek Yoon-sik's Ex-Partner Admits to False Accusation of 'Forgery of Agreement'
A former partner of actor Baek Yoon-sik, who was prosecuted on charges of false accusation, admitted to the charges in the first trial. The former partner, referred to as A, had accused Baek of forging and submitting a settlement agreement during a civil trial, but was prosecuted for false accusation.
At the first trial on the false accusation charges against A, held on the 11th under Judge Baek Woo-hyun of the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 6, A's side stated, "We admit all the charges." However, they argued that "proceeding with judicial procedures would not have helped me," claiming that the intention and purpose of the accusation differ from the prosecution's claims. A is accused of filing a false accusation, claiming that Baek Yoon-sik forged documents after Baek submitted a settlement agreement, which A had personally drafted with the intent of "not disclosing private matters," as evidence in the civil trial.
A was Baek Yoon-sik's former partner, and their relationship attracted attention in 2013 despite a 30-year age difference. They broke up the same year and have since been involved in legal disputes. During the breakup, A made claims such as "Baek Yoon-sik was involved with another woman" and "I was assaulted by Baek Yoon-sik's son," which led to Baek suing A. However, the lawsuit was settled after A issued an apology. During the withdrawal of the lawsuit, the prosecution understood that Baek Yoon-sik obtained a settlement agreement from A stating that "all disputes with Baek Yoon-sik will not be disclosed externally, and compensation will be paid if violated."
However, conflict resurfaced in 2022 when A published a book containing personal stories about Baek Yoon-sik. Baek claimed that A violated the settlement agreement by publishing the book and filed an injunction with the court to prohibit its publication and sale. In April of that year, the court partially granted the injunction, ordering the deletion of sensitive parts of the book related to Baek's past relationships and sexual matters. The prosecution viewed that when A faced potential liability for damages due to violating the settlement agreement by publishing the book, A falsely accused Baek Yoon-sik and indicted A without detention on false accusation charges in January.

A stated, "I am not a public figure, but I have a profession where I must work under my full name," and "I recently changed my name, and exposure in the media would likely interfere with my livelihood," explaining the reason for requesting a closed trial. However, the court rejected the request, stating, "Some details of the case have already been disclosed to the media, and trials are generally conducted publicly."
