2024 'Craft Creation Support Center Operation Support' Project
National Funding Total 300 Million KRW, Continuous Support Through Performance Evaluation
The Korea Craft & Design Foundation (KCDF) announced on the 11th that the Gimhae area in Gyeongnam has been finally selected as the new target site for the 2024 'Craft Creation Support Center Operation Support' project.

View original imageThe Craft Creation Support Center Operation Support project selects locations where craft technology or material industries are concentrated to create and support the operation of integrated spaces equipped with production, exhibition, sales, and experience functions.
Currently, seven Craft Creation Support Centers are operating nationwide in △Gyeonggi △Jeonnam △Jinju △Asan △Jeongeup △Seoul △Cheongju. This year, a total of 300 million KRW in national funds will be provided, and continuous support will be determined annually through performance evaluations.
Based on the project plans submitted by each region, document and presentation reviews, as well as expert on-site verification evaluations, were conducted. As a result, the Gimhae area, which received the highest scores in project appropriateness such as regional connectivity, infrastructure and location excellence, space and operation, and the possibility of project self-sustainability, was finally selected.
The 'Gimhae Cultural Foundation - Clayarch Gimhae Museum' located in Gimhae will participate as the executing institution for the Craft Creation Support Center Operation Support project.

A KCDF official stated, "The Craft Creation Support Center will continue to provide consulting and promotion support to not only revitalize the creative activities of craftspeople but also to grow into a sustainable space through the expansion of the regional craft culture industry base in the future."
