Gwangju Seo-gu, Village BI Activation Support Project Operation

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 11th that it will operate a Village BI (Brand Identity) Activation Support Project linked to the Higher Vocational Education Hub District (HiVE) project.

This project supports the operation of unique programs in each neighborhood according to the BI reflecting the characteristics and identity of the village. Last year, Seo-gu ran 19 educational courses in 9 neighborhoods and 2 departments, including ▲Village Welfare Worker ▲Webtoon School ▲New Middle-aged YouTuber Training Course, receiving great responses from residents.

This year, Seo-gu plans to operate 24 educational courses reflecting the village BI in 15 neighborhoods, including ▲Classic Story (Nongseong 1-dong) ▲Sports Stacking (Nongseong 2-dong) ▲Four Seasons Nature Playground (Yudeok-dong) ▲K-POP Dance for Mothers and Children (Hwajeong 2-dong) ▲Dance Sports Academy (Hwajeong 4-dong) ▲Books and Five Senses Therapy (Dongcheon-dong) ▲Traditional Culture Class (Seochang-dong).

In connection with the Higher Vocational Education Hub District project, from the 11th, a ‘Silver Exercise Class by My Side’ will be held once a week for one hour to promote the health of senior citizens.

Education will be conducted at 9 locations including the Hwajeong 1-dong, Hwajeong 2-dong, Sangmu 2-dong, Pungam-dong, Dongcheon-dong Administrative Welfare Centers, Seo-gu Dementia Relief Center, Geumho Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and Nongseong Bityeoulchae Welfare Center for seniors aged 65 and over. Residents who wish to participate can inquire at the respective institutions.

Yoon Jongsung, Head of Smart Integrated Care, said, “We are operating various programs to activate the village BI that incorporates the characteristics and stories of the village,” and added, “We hope many residents will participate and join in creating a unique village only found in Seo-gu.”

Meanwhile, as part of the Higher Vocational Education Hub District (HiVE) project, lifelong vocational education courses such as bakery desserts, aroma DIY, and scalp care specialist are being offered, and applications can be made through the Lifelong Education Center website.
