Gominjeong, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea who had stepped down from her position as Supreme Council member due to conflicts arising during the party nomination process, has returned to the party leadership.
On the morning of the 11th, at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, Gominjeong stated, "There is nothing more important than stopping the reckless actions of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration right now," adding, "For the victory of all citizens resisting the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's recklessness, I will do my utmost to the best of my ability."

She added, "This is why not only the Democratic Party but also those who share the same will must join hands and unite," and "The reason I returned as a Supreme Council member is the same."
She emphasized again, saying, "Even if our paths have been somewhat different or our thoughts differ, if we do not unite against the enormous power called Yoon Seok-yeol, we will lose too many people," and "We must proceed carefully step by step, gathering the hearts of the people as our mission."

Gominjeong had declared her resignation from the Supreme Council position on the 27th of last month, when factional conflicts intensified due to the 'nomination turmoil,' stating, "There is no longer a role I can play within the leadership." Her resignation came just two hours after the decision to exclude Lim Jong-seok, a key figure of the pro-Moon faction and former Blue House Chief of Staff, from the nomination for Seoul Jung-gu and Seongdong-gu Gap district, which was interpreted as a protest resignation against Lim's exclusion. In response, party leader Lee Jae-myung and floor leader Hong Ik-pyo have been persuading her to return, emphasizing the need to unite to judge the administration.
