Five Accidents in One Week... US United Airlines Faces Multiple Emergency Landings and Return Flights
Wheel Detachment Immediately After Takeoff
Passengers are growing anxious as United Airlines in the United States experienced five incidents over six days.
According to the Associated Press and other sources on the 9th (local time), a United Airlines Airbus A320 passenger plane heading from San Francisco to Mexico City encountered a hydraulic system problem and made an emergency landing at Los Angeles (LA) International Airport the previous afternoon.
United Airlines issued a statement regarding the incident, saying the aircraft safely landed at LA International Airport around 4:30 PM that day, and none of the 110 passengers were injured. The airline explained that one of the three hydraulic systems on the Airbus A320 was identified as having an issue.
Earlier that morning, another United Airlines passenger plane had to return due to maintenance issues during flight. A United Airbus A320 departing from Chicago International Airport en route to Salt Lake City experienced an oil warning light problem and landed back at Chicago Airport. United Airlines stated that the aircraft safely landed at Chicago Airport around 11 AM, and the 149 passengers transferred to another flight.
Including these two incidents that occurred within a day, there have been a total of five incidents involving United Airlines passenger planes over the past six days since the 4th.
On the 4th, a United Boeing 737 flying from Houston to Florida made an emergency landing after an engine fire broke out 10 minutes after takeoff. On the 7th, a United Boeing 777-200 departing from San Francisco experienced a tire wheel detachment immediately after takeoff. On the 8th, a United Boeing 737 Max 8 that landed at Houston Airport veered off the runway while taxiing.

Although there were no injuries in any of the five incidents, passengers had to endure anxiety during emergency situations and experienced inconvenience due to diversions and returns, causing delays in reaching their destinations on time. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that it is investigating all these incidents.
