Fishing Boat Capsizes in Tongyeong Yokjido Waters... 9 Missing (Comprehensive)
At around 6:29 a.m. on the 9th, a 29-ton class nearshore longline fishing vessel registered in Jeju capsized 37 nautical miles (68 km) south of Yokjido, Tongyeong-si, Gyeongnam.
It is known that the vessel had 2 Korean crew members and 7 foreign crew members on board.
The vessel, sailing as part of a fleet with other ships, departed from Hallim Port, Jeju Island at 10:36 a.m. on the 7th and was fishing in the Yokji area.
One of the vessels in the fleet, which had lost contact, was confirmed to be capsized and floating, and the coast guard was notified.
The Tongyeong Coast Guard dispatched patrol vessels and helicopters to the accident site and requested support and rescue from naval vessels, aircraft, and nearby fishing boats.

The Tongyeong Coast Guard patrol vessel arrived at the scene at around 8:34 a.m. and began search operations. It is not yet confirmed whether the crew members escaped.
