Citizen Group Files Complaint Against Medistaff CEO Over Posted 'Remaining Resident Doctor List'
A complaint has been filed by a civic group regarding the disclosure of the names of residents who stay by patients' sides in medical settings.
The Committee for the Protection of the Common People’s Livelihood (Seominwi) submitted a complaint at 2 p.m. on the 8th to the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency against Ki Dong-hoon, CEO of Medistaff, the Korean Medical Association (KMA), and officials of the KMA Emergency Response Committee.
On that day, Kim Soon-hwan, Secretary General of Seominwi, stated, “On the 7th, Medistaff posted a so-called ‘resident blacklist,’ mocking residents who did not join collective actions such as resignation or strikes and remained in medical settings as ‘true doctors.’ As the operator of Medistaff, a telecommunication sales business, despite the post being published, they neglected to remove it, causing the personal information of the affected residents to spread to numerous people. This constitutes violations of the Information and Communications Network Act, defamation, Personal Information Protection Act, obstruction of business, and aiding and abetting threats,” explaining the reasons for the complaint.

In particular, about nine entries in the list revealed two out of three characters of the names of individuals presumed to be residents remaining on site, and information presumed to be their alma maters was also included.
