Seongbuk-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) is recruiting the 2024 ‘Seongbuk-gu One Book Promotion Team’ starting from the 5th.
The One Book Promotion Team, which offers diverse and rich experiences through books, is open to anyone aged 13 and above. Interested individuals can join for free via the Seongbuk-gu Public Library website or by visiting any of the 16 Seongbuk-gu public libraries.
By participating as a member of the One Book Promotion Team, members can ▲take priority in participating in Seongbuk-gu’s representative reading campaign, the ‘Seongbuk-gu One Book Reading’ event, ▲get priority access to borrow candidate books for the One Book project, and ▲receive voting rights for the Seongbuk-gu One Book selection. Additionally, members enjoy priority registration for Seongbuk-gu public library events and exclusive opportunities such as meeting authors, allowing them to enjoy library events more fully.
Last year, 2,736 residents participated as members of the One Book Promotion Team. This means that 1 out of every 100 residents aged 20 to 50 living in Seongbuk-gu was active in the team.
The ‘Seongbuk-gu One Book Reading’ project, created together by the One Book Promotion Team, is now in its 14th year. Through their activities, local residents select one book to read together over the course of a year, becoming the driving force behind the ‘Seongbuk-gu One Book Reading’ project. Through this process, residents respect each other’s thoughts and communicate sincerely with their neighbors through books.
