Preparing for Future Agriculture with New High-Income Crop Demonstration Fields
Jin Byeong-yeong, the governor of Hamyang County, Gyeongnam, visited the demonstration fields within the Agricultural Technology Center to inspect the growth status of crops.
To actively respond to rapid climate change and agricultural diversification, the county is conducting experimental cultivation of various crops for future agriculture, including a subtropical botanical garden, subtropical fruit demonstration fields, and new income crop demonstration fields within the Agricultural Technology Center.

View original imageThe subtropical botanical garden exhibits various subtropical crops such as papaya, lemon, Hallabong, and Cheonhyehyang, serving as a place for residents to tour and experience. The subtropical fruit demonstration fields are experimenting with apple mango and coffee cultivation to test their suitability as income crops in response to climate change.
Additionally, to respond to advanced future agriculture, the existing new income crop demonstration fields will be renovated and established as a smart agriculture education center, which will be operated accordingly.
