New Semester Infectious Disease Emergency... Ulsan City Strengthens Quarantine and Hygiene Management
"Group Living, Concerns Over Immune Decline During Seasonal Change"
Ulsan City has strengthened its surveillance system and urged citizens to be cautious in preparation for infectious diseases that commonly occur in spring.
Infectious diseases prevalent in spring include respiratory infections (chickenpox, measles, mumps, respiratory syncytial virus, etc.), gastrointestinal infections (rotavirus, norovirus), and hand, foot, and mouth disease.
These increases in infections are believed to be due to seasonal factors such as pollen, fine dust, and changing seasons weakening immunity, as well as the start of group activities in the new school term.
To strengthen surveillance against this year's outbreaks, Ulsan City plans to regularize meetings of the infectious disease response council, enhance reporting from medical institutions, and promptly monitor trends of group outbreaks.
