To receive NEVI subsidies, domestic production in the United States is a mandatory requirement. SK Signet's Texas factory began mass production in July last year and can currently produce 10,000 ultra-fast chargers annually. The fast charger supplied to this station is a 400kW model capable of fully charging within 18 minutes.
In July last year, SK Signet signed a long-term contract with Francis Energy to supply at least 1,000 units of 400kW ultra-fast chargers over five years until 2027.
David Yankowski, Chairman and CEO of Francis Energy, said, "We are pleased to collaborate with SK Signet to break ground on Ohio’s first NEVI-selected site for an electric vehicle charging station and improve infrastructure accessibility. Starting with the Ohio project, we have long-term plans to expand charging infrastructure in other regions across the United States."
