On the 6th, Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the 'Bongdam Wau Complex Cultural Library (tentative name)' to be built in Haeoreum Park, Bongdam-eup.

View original imageThe Bongdam Wau Complex Cultural Library will be constructed with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, covering a total floor area of 4,473㎡. The city plans to complete the project next year with a total budget of 19.9 billion KRW.
The library will be a complex cultural space combining a public library consisting of a general reading room, children's reading room, and preservation stacks, along with youth cultural facilities such as a youth cultural center. In particular, it will be operated as an open space where various ages and social groups can come together, based on the local community and cultural ecosystem.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Hwaseong Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun, Hwaseong City Council Chairperson Kim Gyeong-hui, and about 100 citizens. Mayor Jeong said, "The Bongdam Wau Complex Cultural Library will become Hwaseong City's representative complex cultural space loved by all local residents," adding, "We will carefully oversee the project to ensure the library opens without any setbacks."
