Gangseo-gu Conducts Intensive Inspections at 523 Locations to Prevent Safety Accidents During Thawing Season
Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jin Gyo-hoon) will conduct safety inspections of vulnerable facilities and buildings by the 26th of this month to prevent safety accidents during the thawing season. The thawing season is a period when the ground surface, frozen during winter, weakens due to rising temperatures, increasing the risk of safety accidents such as collapse, toppling, and falling rocks.
The inspection targets include ▲steep slopes ▲areas vulnerable to landslides ▲excavation construction sites ▲aged buildings ▲road facilities ▲retaining walls and embankments, totaling 523 locations.
The inspection team will visit sites directly to focus on ▲cracks and subsidence in steep slopes and retaining walls ▲maintenance status of facilities ▲cracks and deformations in D and E grade and other aged buildings, identifying risk factors.
