HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Secures 14 Orders Worth 2.7218 Trillion KRW in One Week

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries continues its winning streak in ship orders.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on the 5th that it secured orders for 14 vessels worth 2.7218 trillion KRW within a week from February 24 to March 1.
The orders include 4 LNG carriers, 2 Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTC), 2 Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC), 2 medium-sized LPG carriers, and 4 petrochemical product carriers (PC) from shipping companies based in Oceania and Europe.
On February 24, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries opened the door to this winning streak by securing an order for four 174,000㎥ LNG carriers from an Oceania-based shipping company. The price per vessel was a record high of 270 million USD. These ships will be built at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, and delivered to the shipowner by January 2028.
On February 26, the company secured an order for two 7,500 UNIT (1 UNIT equals one car) Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTC) equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion engines from a European shipping company. The contract amount was 356.3 billion KRW. These vessels will be constructed at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan and delivered sequentially to the shipowner by May 2028.
The following day, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries succeeded in securing an order for two Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCC) worth a total of 343.9 billion KRW from an Oceania-based shipping company. These vessels will be built at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and delivered to the shipowner by December 2026.
