Gyeonggi-do to Invest 478.8 Billion KRW in Lifelong Education Projects This Year
Gyeonggi Province will invest a total of 478.8 billion KRW in lifelong education projects this year.
On the 5th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it has allocated a total of 478.8 billion KRW, including 306.4 billion KRW of provincial funds, to 62 projects across 4 areas under the vision of "More Opportunities, More Equitable Participation, and Stronger Basic Learning Rights to Realize the Learning Rights of Residents" this year.
Key projects include ▲ 38 projects to guarantee lifelong learning rights throughout residents' entire lives ▲ 9 projects leading nationwide top-level education support projects ▲ 7 projects supporting youth growth as future talents ▲ 8 projects promoting library policies to enhance residents' cultural welfare.
In this implementation plan, Gyeonggi Province focuses on expanding lifelong education tailored to life transitions and educational opportunities for vulnerable groups, continuing projects such as the Gyeonggi Lifelong Learning University, a lifelong education program covering life stages from young adulthood to old age, and the Visiting Learning Classroom project for educational welfare of marginalized youth.
Additionally, 3.7 billion KRW will be invested in career experience programs for youth and university students who need career exploration as a life cycle task, and 39.5 billion KRW will be allocated for customized support for at-risk youth and out-of-school youth.
Other initiatives include support for the construction of public libraries and projects supporting reading activities for information-vulnerable groups.

Jo Tae-hoon, Director of the Lifelong Education Division of Gyeonggi Province, stated, "Through this year's lifelong education promotion implementation plan, we will advance Gyeonggi Province into a place full of lifelong education opportunities," and added, "We will continue to actively discover and provide lifelong learning projects that meet the needs of residents."
