Gokseong-gun Supports Installation Costs for 'Agricultural Products Cold Storage'
Held Briefing Session on Support for Small Cold Storage Units
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it held an explanatory meeting on the `Small-scale Cold Storage Support Project for Agricultural Products` at the Gunmin Hall Participation Yard on February 29.
About 40 people, including farmers selected as subsidy project operators and representatives of construction companies selected through a public contest, attended the meeting to receive education and share information on the detailed implementation plans of the project.
The explanatory meeting consisted of training on project implementation guidelines such as contract signing methods, installation standards, and precautions when claiming subsidies after completion, to help subsidy project operators carry out the project smoothly. It also included product promotion and Q&A sessions from 14 construction companies selected through the public contest.
For horticultural crop farmers, cold storage facilities are essential for controlling shipment timing and maintaining product quality, which are critical factors directly linked to farm income.
Accordingly, Gokseong-gun has continuously supported the installation of small-scale cold storage to increase the income and improve the marketability of horticultural crop farmers. Starting this year, the cultivation area criteria have been relaxed to 0.2 hectares or more so that more farmers can benefit from the support.
The first round of beneficiaries included 23 units of 9.9m² (3-pyeong) cold storage and 2 units of 33m² (10-pyeong) cold storage.
Support limits for cold storage installation are applied differently according to size: 6.3 million KRW for 3-pyeong cold storage and 21 million KRW for 10-pyeong cold storage. The county supports 50% of the project cost.
A county official said, “We hope that through this project, farmers will be able to ship their agricultural products at the desired time and improve product quality, thereby helping increase farm income. We plan to recruit the second round of beneficiaries for the small-scale cold storage support project, so we ask for your continued interest.”
