Opposition to People Power Party's Strategic Nomination Rumors in Busan Buk-gu E: Favoring Local Sentiment Candidates Over 'Gongcheon Cheolsae'
In Busan Buk-gu Eul, where the electoral district has been finalized, members of the People Power Party in the area are showing opposition to the idea of a strategic nomination.
While opposition parties have strong, well-known candidates firmly in place locally, there is a backlash against rumors of a strategic nomination for a candidate with weak local ties from the People Power Party.
Recently, following a bipartisan agreement, the electoral district delimitation plan was finalized, dividing the Bukgangseo district into 'Buk-gu Gap,' 'Buk-gu Eul,' and 'Gangseo.'
Since then, Seo Byung-soo, who previously received a strategic nomination in the Bukgangseo Gap area, is targeting Buk-gu Gap, while rumors circulate about a strategic nomination for former Vice Minister Park Seong-hoon in the newly created Buk-gu Eul district.
Following Seo Byung-soo's strategic nomination in Bukgangseo Gap, the possibility of an external figure receiving a strategic nomination in the newly created Buk-gu Eul district has increased, prompting voices of opposition among local residents and party members.
There have been rumors that Seo Byung-soo, who was already strategically nominated in Bukgangseo Gap, lacks local ties and a strong justification for the strategic nomination, resulting in poor public sentiment and limited support, causing difficulties in his campaign.
One party member said, "I couldn't clearly understand what justification there is, and it's frustrating to hear rumors again about nominating someone unrelated to the area strategically."
Currently, a candidate being discussed for nomination is perceived by some within the party as a 'nomination migratory bird,' appearing in various regions without establishing roots, which has sparked internal opposition.
