He said, "Among the 300 members of the National Assembly, I am one of only two who have won the Korea National Assembly Legislative Award three times in a row, yet I am ranked in the bottom 20% in the Democratic Party's member evaluation."
He continued, "I stand here bearing the dishonor of being in the bottom 20% of the Democratic Party's member evaluation, but I dare to think that this mark is an honor, not a burden, and glory, not disgrace. As a National Assembly member from Gwangju, the heart of the Democratic Party, I believe I have judged correctly, spoken courageously, and acted without fear, and I will fully entrust that judgment and evaluation to the voters and party comrades," he emphasized.
At this event, Song announced five pledges.
First, as an extraordinary emergency measure against population extinction and the climate crisis, he plans to promote legislation to amend the government organization act to establish the 'Ministry of Population Future' and the 'Ministry of Climate and Energy.' He also promised to enhance the urban competitiveness of Gwangju and non-capital regions by successfully implementing feasible mega-city policies through the enactment of the 'Mega City Special Act.'
He intends to promote the 'Honam Ultra-Wide Area Economic Community' project and build an 'Energy Expressway and Arterial Road' as its core means, aiming for Honam to lead a revolutionary transformation of South Korea's energy industry.
Additionally, he plans to make Seo-gu Chipyeong-dong Urban Convergence Special Zone, known as the 'Second Pangyo Valley,' a success, creating 'Gwangju as a hub city' standing shoulder to shoulder with Seoul and Busan.
Lastly, he promised to see through the relocation of Gwangju military airport and Mudeungsan anti-aircraft artillery base to the very end.
