A Grandson in His 20s Killed His Grandmother During Lunar New Year Holiday... Older Sister Also Conspired
Police Detain and Transfer Siblings in Their 20s on Charges of Killing a Family Member
Regarding the case where a man in his 20s killed his grandmother due to "nagging" during the Lunar New Year holiday (reported in the online edition on February 22), it has been revealed that the suspect's older sister was also additionally arrested as an accomplice. The police found evidence that the brother and sister in their 20s planned the crime in advance.
On the 29th, the Busan Southern Police Station announced that they had arrested A, a man in his 20s, on the 19th on charges of killing a family member, and subsequently sent his older sister B to prosecution on the same charges.
According to the police, A was sent to prosecution on charges of assaulting and causing the death of his biological grandmother at a villa in Nam-gu, Busan, on the 9th during the Lunar New Year holiday. During the investigation, the police discovered evidence that his older sister B conspired in the crime and also referred her to the prosecution on charges of killing a family member.
Earlier, on the night of the 9th, A reported to 119 that "Grandmother fell and got injured," and when firefighters arrived, C was already deceased. Multiple wounds were found on C's body, which raised suspicion, leading the police to arrest A the next day and obtain a confession.
A stated that he committed the crime out of dissatisfaction with his grandmother's nagging and severe interference. During further investigation, the police found evidence that his older sister B, who lives in Chungnam, conspired in the crime.
The police confirmed that the siblings discussed the crime plan over the phone before the crime and met on the day of the incident. The police believe that B conspired with her younger brother, who usually obeyed and relied on her, to commit the crime.
