Jangseong-gun to Accept Applications for 'Basic Public Interest Direct Payment' Starting Next Month 4
Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 28th that it will accept applications for the ‘Basic Public Interest Direct Payment System’ from April 4 to April 30.
The ‘Basic Public Interest Direct Payment System’ is a program that provides direct payments to farmers to stabilize farm income and promote the public functions of agriculture and rural areas. It is divided into small-scale direct payments and area-based direct payments.
The small-scale direct payment targets farms that meet all eight criteria, including ▲application farmland area between 1,000㎡ and less than 5,000㎡ ▲all eligible farmers in the household have resided in rural areas and engaged in farming for more than three years ▲the total comprehensive income excluding agriculture of all eligible farmers in the household is less than 20 million KRW. Each eligible farm receives 1.3 million KRW.
The area-based direct payment is paid by applying unit prices according to the cultivated area.
The target for in-person applications this time includes ▲farms whose registered management entity information does not match last year ▲new applicants ▲farmers cultivating outside the region more than 50 km away ▲agricultural corporations ▲all farmers who have not applied non-face-to-face.
Applications can be made by visiting the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Centers. Non-face-to-face and simplified applications were accepted until this month.
For more details, check the announcement by entering ‘public interest’ in the notices section on the county office website, or contact the Eup/Myeon Administrative Welfare Center where the largest farmland is located.
The county plans to pay the direct payments between November and December after the registration process and on-site investigation by the Agricultural Products Quality Management Service from May to September.
A county official said, “We will focus on promoting the program centered on villages in Eup and Myeon to ensure that all eligible farmers receive the benefits without omission.”
