Western-style Pork Cutlet Inside a Burger... Lotteria Launches New Menu Stealing Men's Hearts
Wang Donkatsu Burger Limited Release Nationwide on 29th
73% of Purchases by Male Customers During Test Operation
"Increase Donkatsu Patty Weight by 10g"
Western-style pork cutlet has entered the burger. Lotteria, a burger franchise operated by Lotte GRS, announced on the 28th that it will launch a new menu item using pork cutlet, the ‘Wang Donkkaseu Burger,’ as a limited menu nationwide on the 29th. This menu was first introduced as a test menu in December last year.
The Wang Donkkaseu Burger is a reinterpretation of the Western-style pork cutlet menu into a burger. Based on the pros and cons identified during the preliminary test sales, improvements were made. To offer a variety of flavors, a ‘Spicy Wang Donkkaseu Burger’ using spicy sauce has been added, making it available in two types.
During the test operation period of the Wang Donkkaseu Burger, analysis of the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system showed that about 77% of purchases were made by customers in their 20s and 30s, and about 73% of the total purchases were by male customers. It was analyzed that the burger’s appearance and patty size drove the purchasing power of the male customer base.
Additionally, the preliminary sales volume of the Wang Donkkaseu Burger recorded the same level as the Jeonju Bibim Rice Burger, which was officially launched earlier this year. The average sales per store also achieved 110% of the target, predicting that the sales goal will be about twice as high upon official release.
To enhance cost-effectiveness, Lotteria increased the weight of the pork cutlet patty by 10g compared to the test period. To allow customers to enjoy various flavors of the pork cutlet patty, additional basic sauce is provided, and each sauce can also be purchased separately for more variety.
To celebrate the launch of the Wang Donkkaseu Burger, a ‘Boundary-Pushing Giveaway’ promotion will run from the launch date until the 13th of next month. The promotion includes a prize scratch card event and a limited package box menu available for purchase through the Lotte Eats app at 50 directly operated stores (check the Lotte Eats app for participating stores), along with various other promotional activities.

A representative from Lotte GRS stated, “Since the Wang Donkkaseu Burger, which was sold during the preliminary test, generated various responses through word of mouth from many customers, we plan to provide enjoyment through the development of unique menus that only the Lotteria brand can offer.”
