Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to Hold Briefing Sessions for Local Governments on '2nd Phase GTX' Lines
Starting on the 28th in Incheon, Gimpo, and Bucheon
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Korea Transport Institute, following the official announcement of the 2nd phase GTX project at the public discussion forum "30-Minute Commute Era" hosted by the President on the 25th of last month, will engage in on-site communication with local governments and the construction industry along the new and extended GTX lines as a follow-up procedure.
Among the areas through which the 2nd phase GTX lines will pass, the first local government briefing session will be held on the 28th targeting the northwestern Gyeonggi region including Incheon, Gimpo, and Bucheon. A total of five relay briefing sessions will be held during the first half of the year, covering Seoul, Gyeonggi, Chungcheong, and Gangwon regions.
At the briefing sessions, the 2nd phase GTX route plans and future implementation strategies will be explained, and discussions will focus on matters requiring local government roles such as hub development linked to the GTX lines and the establishment of connected transportation networks.
Since a private proposal method will also be pursued after the establishment of the 5th National Railroad Network Plan next year, separate GTX briefings will be held for construction companies and design and engineering industries.
