Reform New Party Reveals Disqualification Criteria for Nominations... Excluding Candidates with Sexual Crime or Drug Crime Fines
The Reform New Party's Nomination Management Committee announced the 'disqualification criteria' for candidate screening on the 27th.
In cases of sex crimes and drug offenses, even a fine is considered disqualifying, and for drunk driving, any single offense after the enactment of the Yoon Chang-ho Act is disqualifying.
The Reform New Party's Nomination Committee stated, "The party has decided that even receiving only a fine for sex crimes and drug offenses will be grounds for disqualification," adding, "For draft evasion, tax evasion, workplace harassment, and school violence, those who receive a suspended sentence or higher will be classified as disqualified, establishing standards that meet the public's expectations."
They further added, "In the case of drunk driving, we have decided that even a single violation after the Yoon Chang-ho Act will be disqualifying, setting standards that align with the public's expectations."

View original imageAccording to the disqualification criteria approved by the Nomination Committee the previous day, the party set the same standards as the People Power Party, disqualifying candidates with one drunk driving offense after the enactment of the Yoon Chang-ho Act (December 18, 2018), two offenses within 10 years from the election date, or three offenses within 20 years from the election date.
The Reform New Party's Nomination Committee will accept applications for local constituency candidates from the 28th until the 6th of next month. Applications are only accepted 100% online.
