Naju-si, Anti-Corruption Integrity Pledge Ceremony Aiming for Top Rank in Integrity Evaluation
Naju City in Jeollanam-do has renewed its commitment to enter the top tier in the public sector integrity evaluation.
On the 26th, Naju City announced that it recently held an 'Anti-Corruption Integrity Pledge Ceremony' at the city hall's main conference room, attended by Mayor Yoon Byung-tae, Vice Mayor Ahn Sang-hyun, and 42 senior officials.
This pledge was organized to reaffirm the determination of senior officials to lead by example, aiming to achieve a grade 1 overall integrity rating, rather than settling for last year's grade 3 comprehensive integrity result.
From 2018 to 2022, the city remained in the lowest ranks of integrity evaluations, but through differentiated integrity policies and strengthening internal cohesion, it succeeded in rebounding to grade 3 in 2023, up from grade 2.
Mayor Yoon and the senior officials pledged during the ceremony to uphold commitments such as 'prohibition of abuse of superior position and authority,' 'creating a healthy organizational culture based on mutual respect and consideration among colleagues,' and 'prohibition of unfair tasks and private orders.' They also analyzed the 2023 comprehensive integrity measurement results and discussed key policy directions to improve the rating.
Naju City plans to focus on improving internal integrity, which is relatively weak this year, by holding integrity roundtable discussions in the first and second halves of the year to candidly gather employees' on-site voices.
Prior to the pledge ceremony, about 1,000 employees participated in the integrity pledge through continuous online self-study on integrity.
Mayor Yoon Byung-tae of Naju said, "The grade 3 comprehensive integrity rating in 2023 is a precious result of all employees working together with one heart and mind for a trustworthy 8th-term civilian administration." He added, "I hope everyone will join in creating a public service culture where integrity is prioritized and mutual consideration and respect are established."
