Prosecutors Seek Arrest Warrant for Former Lawmaker Im Jong-seong on Charges of Receiving 115 Million Won
The prosecution has requested an arrest warrant for former Democratic Party lawmaker Lim Jong-seong, who is accused of receiving bribes worth approximately 115 million won from companies located in his electoral district.
On the 26th, the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors' Office announced that it had requested an arrest warrant for former lawmaker Lim on charges of violating the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes (bribery), the Political Funds Act, and the Improper Solicitation and Graft Act.
The prosecution detected circumstances in 2021 where former lawmaker Lim received money and valuables from a construction company in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, and conducted searches of his electoral district office and National Assembly office on the 8th and 10th of last month.

On the 8th, former lawmaker Lim lost his seat after the Supreme Court confirmed a suspended prison sentence for violating the Public Official Election Act. He was indicted on charges of providing money, valuables, or meals to election workers and local associates between March and April 2022.
