NVIDIA Version of 'Don Namu Nuna' Cathie Wood Sells TSMC This Time
Cash Wood, CEO of Ark Investment Management, who gained fame in Korea as 'Don Nuna,' has reportedly sold shares of Taiwanese semiconductor company TSMC after more than two years. This news comes amid Wood's ongoing sell-off of Nvidia shares, the leading AI stock, citing overvaluation.
On the 26th (local time), Bloomberg reported, citing data from Ark Investment Management, that the Ark Autonomous Tech and Robotics ETF (ticker ARKQ) sold 8,599 American Depositary Receipts (ADRs) of TSMC for the first time since the end of 2021. ARKQ is an ETF that invests in innovative autonomous technology and robotics companies. On the same day, ARKQ also sold 2,362 shares of Nvidia.
Nvidia is a company that manufactures GPUs (graphics processing units), essential for AI innovation. TSMC contracts the production of Nvidia's AI semiconductors (chips). Since the beginning of this year, the stock prices of Nvidia and TSMC (ADR) have surged by 59% and 25%, respectively.

CEO Wood has expressed the view that AI development will change the course of the global economy. However, it is known that she has been continuously reducing the portfolio weight of leading global chip companies, including Nvidia. Bloomberg reported that "(because of this) the ETFs managed by Ark Investment Management have largely missed out on Nvidia's upward rally."
