Sancheong's Excellent Agricultural Specialties Target Japanese Consumers
County Ships Export Worth 120 Million Won
Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, held a 'Ceremony for the Export Shipment of Excellent Agricultural Specialty Products to Japan' at Dongsui Bio, an agricultural corporation in Danseong-myeon.
The shipment ceremony held on the 23rd was attended by over 20 people, including the head of the Agricultural and Food Distribution Division of Gyeongnam Provincial Government, officials from Sancheong-gun Office, the president of the Gyeongnam Agricultural and Marine Food Export Association, and representatives from Japan's HIKALEE. The shipment scale amounted to a total of 120 million KRW worth of products such as bellflower pear juice.
The bellflower pear juice is made by directly extracting pears from Sancheong, and it is expected to be a great opportunity to showcase the excellence of Sancheong agricultural products in Japan with its superior taste and quality.
Dongsui Bio, the agricultural corporation, is preparing shipments of NK Miracle mineral water in collaboration with Japan's Mukonosou company following this export to Japan, and is also negotiating exports to Thailand, the Middle East, and the United States.
In particular, Sancheong-gun has been promoting various export policies to expand exports, not only through this shipment but also continuously. This year, more than three new projects in the export sector have been discovered and are being implemented.
Last year, Sancheong-gun's export performance reached 11.7 million USD, showing a steady growth trend, and this year's results are also expected to be favorable.
An official from the county stated, "Although there are difficulties in exports due to the global economic downturn, we hope this export shipment will become a driving force for Sancheong-gun's export growth," and added, "We will continue to work hard to increase exports by preparing export expansion plans, developing overseas markets, and promoting sales activities."
