HD Hyundai Infracore Achieves Leadership Grade in CDP Climate Change Response Assessment
Received the Industry's First 'A-' Grade in 2023
HD Hyundai Infrastructure Core, an affiliate of HD Hyundai's construction equipment division, has been recognized for its efforts to achieve carbon neutrality.
HD Hyundai Infrastructure Core recently announced on the 26th that it received an 'A-' leadership grade for the first time in the domestic construction equipment industry in the Climate Change 2023 assessment, hosted by CDP, a global sustainability management evaluation organization. The Climate Change assessment is a global project that requests major companies worldwide to disclose management information related to climate change and the environment, and publishes reports for reference by global financial investment institutions and customers.
Since declaring carbon neutrality for all its business sites by 2050 in 2021, the first in the domestic construction equipment industry, HD Hyundai Infrastructure Core has been steadily implementing its carbon neutrality roadmap by introducing renewable energy and developing eco-friendly products, earning favorable evaluations. As a result, it received a C grade in 2021, a B grade in 2022, and its grade improved again last year.
Last year, HD Hyundai Infrastructure Core became the first company in the HD Hyundai Group to sign a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for renewable energy with an external company and began supplying renewable energy to its Gunsan factory. It is also installing solar power facilities at its Incheon factory. In this process, it was named an 'Industry Mover'?an honor given to only one company?in the 2023 CSA, where S&P Global evaluates and announces corporate ESG performance by sector.
