Dong-A University Achieves Double Victory by Being Selected for Ministry of Employment and Labor's Youth Employment Support Project
‘Customized Employment Services for Enrolled Students’ · ‘University Job Plus Center’, Over 1.7 Billion Won
Dong-A University has achieved the great feat of being selected for two youth employment support projects conducted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
This year, Dong-A University was newly selected for the ‘Customized Employment Service for Enrolled Students’ project and the ‘University Job Plus Center Project’ was promoted to a ‘Hub Type’.
The Customized Employment Service for Enrolled Students project expands employment support services, which were previously only provided to university graduates (or prospective graduates), to currently enrolled students. It helps with faster career setting and preparation and contributes to resolving job mismatches among youth. This youth employment support project was promoted as a national agenda to innovate youth employment policies from a focus on corporate incentives to a service-centered approach.
About 40 universities nationwide were selected for this project, which is operated by classifying universities into types A, B, and C according to the size of enrolled students. Dong-A University was selected as a large-scale ‘Type A’ university.
With this selection, Dong-A University will receive about 900 million KRW in support for the Customized Employment Service for Enrolled Students project.
Thus, Dong-A University will carry out the projects starting next month with an annual budget of about 1.7 billion KRW, including the University Job Plus Center (Hub). The plan is to use an AI-based job care system to support students’ early preparation for entering society.
For first- and second-year students, Dong-A University operates a Build-Up Project that includes ▲basic counseling courses for career and job exploration ▲Youth Future Advancement Program ▲job exploration and portfolio design ▲career and job experience programs, providing career and employment education courses preferred by lower-grade students.
For third- and fourth-year students, the Jump-Up Project offers ▲individual employment counseling linked to employment-related courses ▲establishment and support of Individualized Employment Activity Plans (IAP) ▲operation of regional employment-focused programs ▲work experience support, providing personalized employment service packages tailored to each student.
