Gwanak-gu Opens First 'Seoul-style Kids Cafe Nangok-dong Branch'
On the 23rd, Seoul-style 'Kids Cafe Nangok-dong Branch' Opens on the 2nd Floor of Nangok Revitalization Center with 150㎡ Area
Operating Unique Programs Including Drawing Paint Play Zone and Sensory Play, Different from Existing Kids Cafes
Recently, there has been a growing demand from parents for spaces where children can play healthily. Due to the surge in fine dust regardless of the season, it is difficult to let children play outdoors with peace of mind. Additionally, even when trying to use privately operated indoor kids cafes, the cost is burdensome, making frequent use difficult, which is a significant concern for parents.
Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Junhee) has opened the first Seoul-style Kids Cafe in Nangok-dong to address parents' concerns about spaces where children can play freely.
In January of last year, the district received approval for the Seoul-style Kids Cafe location selection, and after more than a year of preparation, it officially began operations on March 5 of this year.
The Seoul-style Kids Cafe Nangok-dong branch is located on the second floor of the Nangok Revitalization Center and features various spaces for children, covering approximately 150㎡.
Unlike existing kids cafes centered on installed playground equipment, the ‘Kids Cafe Nangok-dong’ is a new-concept kids cafe offering unique programs such as a drawing paint play experience zone and tactile play.
The kids cafe is intended for infants and toddlers aged 0 to 7 and their guardians, with an admission fee of 3,000 KRW (▲ 2,000 KRW for children ▲ 1,000 KRW for guardians).
The kids cafe operates from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and those wishing to use the facility can make an online reservation through the ‘Our Neighborhood Care Portal’.
The district expects that the kids cafe, which can be used by anyone regardless of the season, will help guarantee the ‘right to play’ for children.
Additionally, the district plans to establish more uniquely themed kids cafes in Euncheon-dong and Haengun-dong.
