Moon Jae-in: "Elections Are About Choosing the Kind of World and Economy I Want"
Recommended Book: "Economic Stories That Economic Newspapers Don't Tell"
Former President Moon Jae-in recommended the column “Economic Stories That Economic Newspapers Do Not Tell,” written by columnist Lim Ju-young, on Facebook on the 23rd, stating, “Elections are about choosing what kind of world and economy I want.”
Former President Moon said, “Even when comparing only the previous and current administrations, one can feel that there is a fundamental difference in how they view the economy and that their economic policies are completely different,” and argued, “That difference creates a completely different world.” He pointed out, “Although it is an important choice that determines my life and the lives of my children, we often forget this fact only when it comes to elections,” analyzing, “This is because political controversies and ideological distortions deceive voters or make it impossible to understand what is what.” He repeatedly emphasized the importance of elections, saying, “We must not be swayed by that and make choices harmful to ourselves and our children.”
He explained, “This book is about economic stories but is easy and interesting,” adding, “It covers important economic issues that have been controversial from the previous administration to the present, making it both intriguing and refreshing as it resolves curiosities.” He said, “In fact, most of the controversies stem from partisan opposition that turns even economic issues affecting the lives of the people into political battles,” and “You can also identify the reality of distortions that obscure the truth.”
