Gwangjin-gu Takes Action to Regulate 74 Recklessly Placed Clothing Collection Bins
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) has launched a 'Clothing Collection Box Maintenance' initiative to improve urban aesthetics and create pedestrian-friendly streets.
This is part of the 'Urban Clearing' project, one of the key initiatives of the 8th local government administration, focusing on locations that ▲cause inconvenience to passage or pose safety risks ▲have redundant installations in specific areas ▲suffer from illegal dumping and odors around collection boxes, causing significant inconvenience to residents.
After a full survey of 550 clothing collection boxes installed in the area, the district plans to relocate or remove 74 boxes. By adjusting the number of managed boxes and operating efficiently based on usage demand, the district aims to create a safe and pleasant urban environment.
Additionally, each clothing collection box will display a management number along with the real name and contact information of the manager, enabling residents to easily make inquiries and ensuring prompt handling of any issues.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, stated, “Cleanliness, hygiene, and a pleasant environment in the city are crucial issues directly linked to the safety and happiness of our residents. We will strive to create a clean and safe environment without any inconvenience to pedestrians.”
