Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo District, "There Is No Excess in Safety"
Mapo-gu (Mayor Park Gang-su) held a meeting of department heads responsible for safety and health compliance to prevent serious accidents on the afternoon of the 23rd in the large conference room of Mapo-gu Office.
In preparation for the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, which will be expanded this year to include workplaces with fewer than 50 employees, the meeting was attended by Mayor Park Gang-su, the deputy mayor, and 37 department heads related to serious citizen and industrial accidents, including those managing public facilities.
The meeting proceeded based on the report from the Citizen Safety Division on the "2023 Second Half Inspection Results of Serious Citizen and Industrial Accidents," during which each department head discussed their department's compliance status and improvement measures.

Before the meeting, Mayor Park Gang-su emphasized, "There is no such thing as overreacting when it comes to safety," and urged, "Since 80% of industrial accident deaths occur in workplaces with fewer than 50 employees, related departments must do their utmost to ensure that safety and health obligations are thoroughly observed in these workplaces."
