Yongin City Wins Excellence Award at the 'Local Administrative Innovation Awards'

Semiconductor Development Vision, Evaluation of Life-Integrated Policies

Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 23rd that it received the Excellence Award at the "1st Local Administrative Innovation Awards" hosted by the Korean Association for Local Government Studies.

The Local Administrative Innovation Awards is an award established and operated from this year by the Korean Association for Local Government Studies to commend local governments that have demonstrated outstanding achievements in the development of local autonomy. The association selected this year's awardees by evaluating the timeliness and effectiveness of innovation cases, innovativeness and creativity, sustainability and acceptability, as well as cost rationality and efficiency.

The city explained that it received high marks for contributing to the development of local autonomy by presenting an innovative vision for fostering the semiconductor industry under the slogan "Future Made Together, Yongin Renaissance." The city also added that its efforts to enhance citizen convenience through various life-oriented policies and actively participate in central government ministry public contests to secure budgets were highly evaluated.

A city official said, "We are pleased to have our achievements recognized for implementing innovative policies in various fields during the 8th elected administration," adding, "We will continue to introduce innovative policies for the development of Yongin City and strive to provide differentiated services from the citizens' perspective."
