[Photo] Government Increases Imported Fruits to Stabilize Grocery Basket Prices
On the 22nd, when the government discussed measures to stabilize prices by allocating an additional 20,000 tons of tariff reduction quotas for imported fruits, imported oranges were displayed at a large supermarket in Seoul. On the same day, Choi Sang-mok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, presided over a meeting with relevant ministers on economic issues and discussed plans to introduce the remaining 527 tons of orange tariff reduction and low-tariff quota (TRQ) volumes in full by February, allocate an additional 20,000 tons of tariff reduction quotas for imported fruits by the end of March, and allow direct import by supermarkets, among other institutional improvements.
