Haman-gun Accepts Applications for Crop Disaster Insurance for Persimmons, Mushrooms, and More
Agricultural Facilities and Facility Crops, Mushroom Cultivation Houses and Mushroom Crops, Four Types of Fruit Trees
Gyeongnam Haman-gun recently announced on the 22nd that it is accepting applications for insurance enrollment for agricultural facilities and facility crops, mushroom cultivation houses and mushroom crops, and four types of fruit trees (apple, pear, persimmon, and astringent persimmon) to alleviate farmers' management anxiety and stabilize income and management amid the increasing occurrence of natural disasters caused by abnormal weather.
Since crop disaster insurance supports 90% of the total insurance premium, farmers only need to pay 10% of the premium themselves.
Last year, the county's crop disaster insurance enrollment included a total of 24 items such as rice, with 4,297 people and 5,718 hectares insured, and the county provided 3.73 billion KRW in insurance payments.
This year, the county plans to actively promote the necessity of crop disaster insurance with a goal of achieving a subscription rate of over 85% of the target area (5,508 hectares).
