Delay in Overhead Line and Partial Train Delivery on Line 5 Godeok Depot Ground Section
Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho) announced that due to snowfall overnight, snow accumulated and froze on the overhead catenary wires in the aboveground section of the 5 Line at Godeok Depot, causing disruptions in the power supply to the catenary wires and trains, resulting in some delays in train departures.
The delay in 5 Line departures occurred from the first train around 5:30 AM. The issue has now been resolved, and normal departures are underway.
The 2 Line also experienced delays of about 20 to 25 minutes on both inner and outer tracks due to snow accumulation on the overhead catenary wires in some aboveground sections and a turnout mismatch malfunction (occurred around 8:34 AM, resolved around 8:49 AM). The 7 Line experienced cumulative delays of 10 minutes on the up line and 25 minutes on the down line due to a platform screen door malfunction.
