Metal Crafts Artist Who Has Worked as a Professor in the Department of Craft Design
Gwak Sunhwa, CEO of Space Geumchae, has been appointed as the chairman of the Korea Craft and Design Foundation. The term is three years, until February 20, 2017.
On the 21st, Yoo In-chon, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented the appointment letter and requested, "Based on your long-standing experience and expertise accumulated in academia and the field, please contribute to strengthening the status of the Korea Craft and Design Foundation and widely promoting the charm of K-Culture."

Chairman Gwak is a metal crafts artist. After earning a bachelor's and master's degree from Seoul National University College of Fine Arts, she worked as a professor in the Department of Craft and Design at Kyonggi University from 1983 to 2019. After retirement, she opened the craft specialty gallery 'Geumchae' to support various exhibitions for domestic crafts artists. She is also serving as an honorary professor in the Department of Design Business at Kyonggi University.
