LG Electronics Introduces AI Fault Prediction Feature for Commercial System Air Conditioners
Preventing Service Overload During Summer and Winter Peak Seasons
"Effective for B2B Customers Such as Medical Facilities, Lodging Businesses, and Factories"
LG Electronics announced on the 20th that it will introduce an 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) Fault Prediction' feature to LG Beacon Cloud, the first ICT-based commercial system air conditioner maintenance system in Korea. LG Beacon Cloud is a management solution that monitors the operating status, control, and fault conditions of system air conditioners in real time.
From the end of this month, an AI fault occurrence prediction solution will be added to Beacon Cloud. When abnormal signals are detected in the device, it predicts fault signs based on big data. The devices are systematically divided and analyzed into fan/motor systems, compressor systems, refrigerant systems, sensor/drain pump systems, and others.
HiM Solutec, LG Electronics' system air conditioner maintenance subsidiary, informs customers of the possibility of faults based on the analysis results of the Beacon Cloud AI fault prediction feature. Service engineers diagnose the abnormal signal parts and take prompt and accurate action. Preventive measures help avoid service congestion during peak summer and winter seasons.
Customers can minimize inconvenience caused by faults. It is expected that customers who require continuous heating and cooling services, such as medical facilities, lodging businesses, and factories, will actively use this feature.

LG Electronics completed the development of the AI fault prediction feature last year and underwent a one-year verification period. Products utilizing the fault prediction feature include Multi V Super 4, Multi V Super 5 models, and Multi V i, which was launched in October 2022 equipped with an AI engine. LG plans to continuously expand the application of AI fault prediction features to more products.
LG Electronics aims to provide differentiated customer experiences by applying AI functions diversely in products and services. At CES 2024, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 9 to 12, LG announced that it will redefine AI as empathetic intelligence. They plan to develop solutions that anticipate customer needs in real time and propose appropriate solutions.
