Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Wins Local Legislative Award for 2 Consecutive Years
Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Seo-gu District Council in Gwangju Metropolitan City, announced on the 16th that he was selected as the recipient of the Encouragement Award in the Basic Council category at the 2024 Local Legislative Awards.
The 2024 Local Legislative Awards (hosted by Legal Journal, sponsored by the Korea Council of Local Assembly Chairs) were held to select outstanding local council members who contributed to local development through excellent legislative activities, improving the quality of life of local residents, and communication with residents, aiming to realize “working local politicians” and “fostering pride in local workers.”
The evaluation criteria included various legislative activities of local council members such as ▲standing committee inquiries ▲5-minute free speeches ▲district administration questions ▲enactment and revision of ordinances ▲communication skills with residents ▲distribution of press releases.
Councilor Jeon said, “I only did what a council member should do, but I am pleased to receive the Local Legislative Award for two consecutive years, following the Excellence Award in 2023 and now the 2024 award. I will take this as encouragement to work harder and repay with legislative activities that are even more helpful for the convenience and welfare improvement of local residents.”
