Changwon Special City, "Restaurants Providing Places for Drug Use Will Face Administrative Sanctions"
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has started to inform businesses that they will face administrative sanctions if they provide places for drug use or operate restaurants.
According to the revised and promulgated "Narcotics Control Act," "Food Sanitation Act," and "Public Hygiene Management Act" on the 6th, food and public hygiene businesses that provide places for drug use or facilitate such acts will be subject to administrative sanctions.
The partial amendment adds that food sanitation businesses such as restaurants and karaoke rooms, and public hygiene businesses such as motels, which provide places, facilities, equipment, funds, or means of transportation to others for acts prohibited under the "Narcotics Control Act," or that incite or assist such acts, will be subject to administrative sanctions including license cancellation and business suspension.
This is to prevent drug-related crimes and ensure the safe use of hygiene businesses, and the law will be enforced six months after its promulgation.
The above matters can be confirmed in the Republic of Korea Electronic Official Gazette and the National Law Information Center.
