View original imageGyeonggi Province will accept applications for next year’s ‘Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project’ through 31 cities and counties in the province until the 4th of next month.
The Development Restriction Zone Resident Support Project is aimed at providing convenience and improving welfare for residents who experience inconveniences due to the designation of development restriction zones. When selected, the project will receive financial support ranging from 70% to a maximum of 90% of the project cost, depending on the financial independence of the city or county.
The support types include ▲living infrastructure projects that expand basic facilities such as roads, parks, and village halls ▲environmental and cultural projects to create attractive recreational spaces in development restriction zones, such as Nuri-gil trails, leisure green spaces, and landscape projects ▲subsidies for improving deteriorated housing to enhance the residential environment of residents living there at the time of designation ▲and living expense support projects for low-income households among the residents living there at the time of designation.
Submitted projects will be evaluated by Gyeonggi Province through document and on-site assessments and expert consultations. Priorities will be assigned according to the resident support project criteria and submitted to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, with final selections made in September.
Kim Su-hyung, Director of the Regional Policy Division of Gyeonggi Province, explained, "If selected for the resident support project, the burden of compensation fees related to project implementation will be waived, and financial issues of the city or county can be resolved at once."
