Medical Students to Begin Collective Leave of Absence from the 20th "Over 90% Approval"
The Korean Medical College and Medical School Student Association (Uidae-hyeop) has decided to initiate a strike (collective) leave of absence and equivalent actions starting from the 20th.
Uidae-hyeop announced on the 17th that it held an emergency committee temporary general meeting on the night of the 16th and decided to comply with the academic regulations of each unit and commence strike leave and equivalent actions from the 20th.
Uidae-hyeop is an organization involving 40 medical colleges, and on the 15th, representatives from 35 medical colleges also made a resolution with the same content. Uidae-hyeop reported that in a survey conducted from the 15th to 16th targeting medical students nationwide, over 90% responded, and more than 90% of respondents expressed support for the strike leave. However, the exact wording of the survey, voting rate, and approval rate were not disclosed.

The Ministry of Education has also responded to the collective action movement of medical students. On the 16th, the Ministry held an online meeting with deans of medical colleges and requested strict academic management to ensure that if students apply for leave, the requirements and processing procedures are properly followed so that strike leave is not approved.
