Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Signs Education Exchange Agreement with Mongolia General Education Office
The Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education and the Mongolian General Education Department announced on the 16th that they signed a memorandum of understanding at the Mongolian General Education Department for educational exchange, including attracting international students.
This agreement was made to support the attraction of international students and the exchange of students and faculty between the Jeonnam Office of Education and the Mongolian General Education Department.

View original imageBoth organizations agreed that the Mongolian General Education Department will participate in the "2024 Korea Glocal Future Education Expo," hosted by the Jeonnam Office of Education, to be held at the Yeosu World Expo from May 29 to June 2.
In particular, they agreed to cooperate in student education and cultural exchange, as well as in the operation of educational exchanges and training for faculty members.
Additionally, they visited School No. 56 located in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, observed Korean language classes, and discussed exchange and support plans for Korean language education to attract international students with school officials. The Mongolian Korean Association also pledged to actively support the attraction of international students.
Superintendent Kim Dae-jung said, "By joining hands with the Mongolian General Education Department, we expect to take a step closer to attracting international students and realizing glocal education," adding, "We will implement education that attracts people from around the world with policies that allow them to learn and realize their dreams in Jeonnam."

Meanwhile, the Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education is promoting the establishment of the (tentatively named) Jeonnam International Vocational High School, which will operate specialized vocational education for international students. The establishment of Jeonnam International Vocational High School will be carried out in stages: ▲(short-term) attracting international students to existing vocational high schools (March 2025) ▲(mid-term) converting existing schools into Jeonnam International Vocational High School (March 2026) ▲(long-term) establishing Jeonnam International Vocational High School (March 2028).
