Incheon City to Hire 451 New Public Officials... Expansion of Socially Disadvantaged Groups
Incheon City announced on the 16th that it will newly hire 451 public officials this year.
By rank, there will be 15 at grade 7, 13 at grade 8, 411 at grade 9, and 12 researchers. By appointing institution, 369 will be hired by Incheon City and its 8 autonomous districts, 29 by Ganghwa-gun, and 53 by Ongjin-gun.
To expand public service opportunities for socially disadvantaged groups, the city will conduct separate recruitment at higher rates than the legal quota, selecting 33 persons with disabilities (6.5%), 14 low-income individuals (3.9%), and 3 technical high school graduates (planned) (30.8%) separately. Additionally, special recruitment will be conducted for veterans recommended by the Veterans Affairs Office, with 4 facility management grade 9 positions and 1 driver grade 9 position.
The appointment exams will be divided into the first and second halves of the year, with the first exam held on June 22 and the second on November 2. Applications can only be submitted online in March and July.
Examinees must meet the residency requirements in Incheon. They must have continuously maintained an address in Incheon from before January 1 of this year until the final exam date (interview), or have had a registered address in Incheon for a total of three years or more before January 1 of this year. However, for some job series and separate recruitment in Ganghwa-gun, residency requirements differ, so applicants should check the official announcement.
Starting this year, the minimum age for all public official appointment exams is unified at 18 years old, and the mandatory certification requirement for computer-related positions has been abolished, instead introducing additional points for certifications. Also, the exemption from application fees has been expanded to include recipients under the Disabled Pension Act and applicants with two or more minor children.
